Gym Dilemma

5/14/2013

I'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment.

I've been saying for a while now.. both here and on MFP that I've been feeling pretty unmotivated when it comes to going to the gym.

Now.. the dilemma is me needing to decide whether or not I should renew my gym membership for this year.. or whether to quit the gym and try something else.

Since I set my New Years Resolutions at the beginning of the year. I have been saying that I will start doing the NROLFW book and start strength training.. The reality of that right now is that its not going to happen.. and probably wont until I am happy with my body.

I'm just not comfortable or confident enough to go into the weights room as potentially the only woman with a load of grunting dudes.

I've also come to the realisation that the changes I want to happen to my body probably aren't going to happen with Cardio anymore and I need to be doing something else.

Cardio has become a real BORE for me in the gym. The same four walls. The same boring routine each time I go. I don't want to go into the weights room so I feel like I'm out of options.

So.. It got me thinking.. I've been watching workout videos on Youtube.. In particular Cassey over at Blogilates and the girls at Tone It Up, Karena and Katrina.

Both I'm subscribed to.. I've watched their workout videos but never done one of them.

I was wondering whether it may be worth while to try doing their videos during the week instead of going to the gym. That way I'm doing something different every time I workout.. I wont get bored. Problem solved, right?

If the videos and stuff just aren't for me.. its as easy as just joining back up to the gym.. I won't be losing out on anything.

I'm seriously going to have to do some thinking. On top of the videos, I was also going to take up running on a more permanent basis. I'm really enjoying running at the moment and I only really run 2 times during the week on the weekend.

I surprisingly never get bored running.. its probably because we are constantly switching up our routes every time we run.

So yeah.. I thought I'd just update you on where I am right now.. I'm currently still going to the gym but like I said.. I'm finding it hard to keep going.

I will let you know what happens and what decision I decide to make.

Has anyone else had trouble with getting bored at the gym? Any tips on how to spice things up?

Let me know!
