Sum It Up.. Sunday!
10/18/2015
Happy Sunday, Everyone! I hope everyone has had a great week. I've had a pretty stressful week this week. I've been house/animal sitting whilst P's mum has been away this week and it's been SO crazy trying to get everything done. I've just been stressed and I've had minimal time to myself. So I hope that you've all had a better week than I have! Let me tell ou what I've gotten up to this week!
Exercise
Running - I ran 4 times this week, like last week - but these have been far off the training runs that I wanted to do this week. 3 of the runs, I had to take the dog out with me as I was just so short on time, so I definitely didn't do any of the speed work that I was meant to do this week! I'll go into more details about the runs in my Training Diary post for tomorrow, so keep an eye out.
Everything Else - I didn't manage to go swimming this week as I was just way too busy. P had the fantastic idea of volunteering to paint the bathroom whilst his mum was away and just so conveniently started it on Monday night even though I was supposed to go swimming. So, instead of going to my swimming lesson this week, I ended up having to finish off the rest of the bathroom walls before we went to bed. Fantastic!
So, does painting count as exercise? Maybe! I was pretty worn out with all the balancing over the bath trying to paint the walls!
Other than painting, I've done a hell of a lot of cleaning up this week. Usually, I don't have too much cleaning commitments in the house, I have certain rooms in the house that I clean during the week. P's mum takes care of the rest. Her animals create a hell of a mess around the house, which means I'm constantly sweeping up hair, picking things up, moving things about - I'm sure that all counts as exercise too!

Food
Honestly? It's been pretty crap. I've been so stressed out with everything that I kinda went off track with my eating this week. It's not been that stellar for the last couple of weeks to be honest, no where near how I want it to be.
I've eaten far too much chocolate and sweet treats this week that I didn't need and I've just eaten way too much in general. I seem to have lost my way with eating and being mindful and listening to my body. I've found that I'm eating mindlessly and not listening to when I'm full - eventually getting to a point where I'm pretty uncomfortable and then feel pretty crappy about myself.
With the above in mind, I'm doing something pretty dramatic for a couple of days.. I'm going on a Juice Cleanse. I'll be on it for 3 days in the hopes of starting a fresh. I know alot of people use Juice Cleanses as a quick solution for weight loss. This isn't what it's about. I just really need a fresh start and I think this is the way to do it for me. I'm hoping that after finishing the cleanse, I'll be able have a different approach to eating(a healthier one that includes less processed, sweet treats)!
I'll be doing vlogs about the experience and I'll do a blog post once I'm done. I know that this is not everyone's cup of tea, but it might be interesting to some.

Plan For Next Week
My main focus will be trying to stick with the cleanse next week. I know that it's going to be difficult, it's not meant to be easy but I want to make the most of the experience and get the benefits from doing one. Afterwards, focus will be on making sure that I have a plan sorted for food so that I'm able to stay on track.
After I've finished the cleanse, I'll be catching up with some training runs(though I've moved them about anyway so it shouldn't be affected too much).
I'm going to my parents the day after I've finished the cleanse and for ONCE I would like to eat sensibly whilst I'm there! I'm determined to make this work. Everyone needs a refresh every now and again and things have gotten to the point where I'm definitely in need of starting over.

Here's a couple of my posts that have gone up in the last few weeks since I did my last Sum It Up.. Sunday, maybe you missed them:
Question: Ever done a juice cleanse or considered doing one? What is your opinion on them? I'm interested in hearing them.

Hey - a run is a run! Don't try to make it sound like it's not. Also, it's much better than I've done in the past week!

I think a short sharp break to get you out of a funk is a great idea! I hope the juice cleanse goes well! Most importantly though - be kind to yourself honey! It was a bad week, but it sounds like you've got a good plan to get back on track, and that is the most important thing x
ReplyDelete@Corinne C Thanks honey, I needed this reminder. A run is much better than nothing at all, you're totally right! :)
