Training Diary // Run Hackney 2016 // Week 3 Recap
4/18/2016
I actually managed to do 4 runs this week! Yipee! It feels like the longest time since I've manageed to do 4 runs in a week, I've almost always skipped a run. Although I didn't manage to do the specific runs, I ran more than scheduled, so I suppose it sort of evens itself out somehow! Here's what I did:
Week 3 Training Schedule
Week 3 Training Schedule
Day Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday | Scheduled
Swim
2-3 miles easy
TempoRest/CT Intervals and/or Swim Rest 10 Miles | What I Did Swim 4 Miles 6 Miles Rest Rest 3 Miles 10 Miles |
So, I know I said last week that I don't usually get chance to run on a Tuesday but this past week, Phillips mum has been getting up earlier as she has been babysitting for her granddaughter(my neice),so we went out running before she arrived.
I didn't PLAN on doing 6 miles on the Wednesday.. it just happened and I'm not really complaining!
I was supposed to go for an interval run on Friday, however, plans changed and I'd totally forgotten that I was house sitting over the weekend and therefore I couldn't go out. Me and Phillip ended up running the dog on Saturday morning to tire the dog out as we were out most of the day with meetings.
Obviously.. running two days in a row isn't something I like to do very often and I was very apprehensive about doing a 10 mile long run the next day!
We ended up deciding to travel to Grafham Water on Sunday for my long run, we've walked round it once before last summer, it's a massive lake that has a route around the outside of it that is about 9 miles. So, we ended up going there and just adding an extra mile at the end.
The run was painful, my knees were hurting at 9 miles and so was my feet. Grafham water was very hilly, it was quite slippy in places and just generally quite a hard route. BUT it was a nice change of scenery and I enjoyed it.

Soo, I've got the same plan this week as I did last week with regards to the type of workouts that I want to complete. I have a sneaking suspicion it will turn out being like this week just gone, but that's OK with me.
The only change obviously is my long run on Sunday which is for 11 miles. I'm obviously not looking forward to it, just like every other long run I've done, but it's my last one until I start to drop my mileage. I can't believe it's just 3 short weeks until my next half marathon! It feels like it's flown by!
My pace is on track to being very close to a PB. I imagine in race conditions, I will run slightly faster than I would normally(I always do), so I should be OK. I just need to do 10:18 min/mi for 13.1 miles to get a PB, so we will see what happens!
Lets just get this week out of the way though, huh?!
Question: Do you have a favourite place/route that you like to run? Do you run the same route or switch it up?
