Happy 1st of March!

I'm pretty sure this month is going to fly by and I'll be pretty busy. I'm definitely hoping to make sure that I keep the blog updated during this time.

I've 2 Birthdays coming up this month, it's also Mothers Day at the end of the month. I'm going on Holiday to Mexico starting 18th March and I've got some preparation for the holiday and my surgery to do before then.

So, lets get straight to the point. My vows for the month of March are:

*** Watch My Eating on Holiday ***
Massive one here, I tend to gain weight every time I go on holiday as I like to try new foods all the time. I'm going in for surgery a week after I get back from holiday.. and I really don't need to be weighing in heavier than I need to, the scales preferable need to go down, not up.
Being active is no issue, Our hotel is located right next to a popular reef so I'm sure we'll be swimming a whole lot on holiday so that's not a problem.

***  Continue with Yoga Practice Everyday and Complete the #BackBendMadness Challenge on Instagram ***
I'd like to continue practicing Yoga this month. It's a way for me to relieve stress and wind down at the end of the day and it feels good to stretch out, it's also been keeping me active and doing something.

I've joined in on the #BackBendMadness2014 challenge that's going on by Liquido and a couple of great Yogis so it will help me keep on track for practicing everyday and I'll keep accountable through Instagram.

*** Try to loose 4 lbs this month ***
As you'll be aware if you've been reading my posts, I'm trying to drop my weight down to around ~130 lbs for surgery. Losing 4 lbs will bring me around 132 lbs, that's 1 lb a  week to loose - I know it might not be doable as my body likes being at 136 but we'll see what happens. I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed.

Question: Do you set any goals at the beginning of the month? What are they?

Where has February gone? I mean.. I know there's only 28 days for this month but come on! Time has flown by!

So the end of the month comes the time where I review my 'vows' that I set for February. I'm thinking I maybe shouldn't have called them a vows as I only held up half the bargain this month.

*** Practice Yoga Everyday ***
I smashed this one! I've actually REALLY enjoyed doing the Do You Yoga Challenge this month, I definitely think I've become more flexible with some of the poses. I enjoy yoga and its a way for me to clear my head and relax after a busy day.
I think I'll be continuing to practice Yoga everyday, I'm gonna do the 10 Day Yoga for Abs that's also by Erin Motz. Could do with strengthening my core a bit, especially since I'm not long off surgery. Every little helps with that!

I've also seen a Yoga 'Bendy' Challenge on Instagram flying around, so I may do that.

*** Do a Biscuit/Sweet/Cakes Ban ***
This one is the reason why I think I shouldn't have called these a vow. Way back at the beginning of the month, I changed this vow slightly. I allowed myself to have some sweet treats but it was limited. It wasn't a complete fail, but I know I could have done way better with this one. I've been having more fruit rather than sugary treats. I've been having raw bars like Nakd Bars too.

I just have too much of a sweet tooth and I need to knock it on the head a little. I have made many healthier choices this month. I've been drinking more water and tea when I get hunger cravings as I find it is just that I'm thirsty and not really hungry.

I'm still proud of how I've handled the sweet ban.

I've half completed my vows this month. I think I saw it coming when I made the vow, but thought by some miracle that I'd be able to cut it out. I'm not entirely sure how I did it last time, but I didn't struggle the way I did this time round when trying to completely avoid treats.

So, we'll be moving onto a new month.. and it's quite a busy month for me but I have no doubt that its also going to fly by very quickly. Phillip and I have our holiday to Mexico coming up on the 18th March which we're both very excited about so we'll be busy with preparation for that.. then it will be my surgery.

I haven't made my mind up about my vows for the month of march, but that post will be imminent tomorrow, so keep an eye out!

So.. First Off. I've had a change of plan regarding my Vows for February.. I originally had the vow of cutting out all sweet treats in February.

It's just not going to happen. It was quite easy the first time round when I last did it back in October last year.. this year, its SO much more difficult.

I've failed with it already.. but only because it came under a sweet treat category but wasn't exactly unhealthy. I made some Mini Banana Muffins this weekend and I had one without thinking.

So, I'm revising my Vow.. I'll be allowing myself to have some sweet treats. I WON'T be having anything that has chocolate included. That is something I still want to stay clear of.. and I will be allowing myself to have treats that I have made myself.. like the Muffins.

I wish I had the willpower to completely cut it out.. but I'm getting SO bored of having savoury snacks.. and you can only have so many pieces of fruit.

All in Moderation.. like I've always said to myself.

1. Were you named after anyone?
As far as I'm aware no, I wasn't.

2. When was the last time you cried?
I want to say a couple of days ago.. but I can cry over the slightest of things.. and I've probably cried/shed a tear a few times during some movies I watched this week.

3. Do you like your handwriting?
Sometimes, if I write in CAPS.. but if I've been writing for a long time, it tends to get scruffy and then I hate it. Hah.

4. What is your favorite lunch meat?
Probably Honey Roast Ham.. but I haven't really had meat in sandwiches for a while.

5. Do you have kids?
No, I don't.. but I have my gorgeous fur baby, Kia :)
6. If you were another person, would you be friends with you?
If I'm honest, I would say No. Not that I wouldn't TRY to be friends with myself.. but I'm very awkward in social situations and tend to keep to myself a lot.. so I think I would struggle to make friends with myself. Ask me again in a couple of months.. things may have changed by then.

7. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Me? Noooo *eye rolling*

8. Do you still have your tonsils?
Yep. Still got em!

9. Would you bungee jump?
I'm gonna say no.. or atleast its not in my distant future. I'm terrified of heights and I don't particularly see the enjoyment/thrill of putting your life in danger.. like jumping with just a rope attached..

10. What is your favorite cereal?
Porridge/Oatmeal - I just can't beat it with anything else at the moment. Love it.

11. Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
Running shoes, no. I have elastic laces so they just slip off. Other shoes, yes.

12. Do you think you are strong?
Both mentally and physically, I don't actually think I am.  Physically, I can lift things.. heavier things than most of my friends.. but still weak in certain areas.. Core strength.. definite no no. Emotionally.. again, quite weak.. I don't handle things well emotionally and can be quite a cry baby.

13. What is your favorite ice cream?
Mint Choc Chip. Although, I've not had ice cream in ages.

14. What is the first thing you notice about other people?
A persons mood. I seem to be good at picking up things like that and I can tell what sort of a mood people are in just by their body language.. but tbh.. I bet most people can do this. hah

15. Red or pink?
Pink.. I like the colour red too, but not as much as pink.

16. What is your least favorite thing about yourself?
Confidence and Body Image. I still haven't got them back fully after loosing the weight.. but I'm hoping that it will be better after I have the surgery and don't have as much to be self conscious about.

17. Any tattoos?
No and I'm too scared to get one as I don't like pain.. but I would like one after all my surgery has been completed as like a symbol of finishing the weight loss.. Not sure though.. and it will probably not happen.

18. Do you have any hobbies?
I guess I can class blogging as a hobby of mine. That and Exercise.

19. What color shoes are you wearing?
Not wearing shoes. Bare foot. :)

20. What was the last thing you ate?
Ryvita Mini's in Salt and Vinegar.. Yummy! :)

21. What are you listening to right now?
Titanic in the background that I'm supposed to be watching.. but missing most of.

22. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
No idea.. Anything Pink or Purple, as they are my favourite colour.

23. Favorite smells?
Freshly baked goods/cakes and Petrol.

24. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
Phillip. He always calls me on his way back from work, sweetheart ;)

25. Mountain hideaway or beach house?
Beach house. Especially considering I like the heat a lot more.. Hopefully the beach house is somewhere warm.

26. Favorite sport to watch?
None, I don't like watching any sports, I just HAVE to when Phillip wants to watch them.

27. Hair color?
Brunette. Dark-ish brown.

28. Eye colors?
Green

29. Do you wear contacts?
Nope and I only wear glasses when I'm driving at night.

30. Scary movies or happy endings?
Mmmm.. Not sure on this one. My first instinct said Scary.. but I think I have a love/hate relationship with them. I sit with my hands over my face a majority of the time.

31. Last movie you watched?
As I mentioned earlier.. Currently watching Titanic as I type this. LOVE the film.

Not wearing a shirt, I'm sitting in my Minnie Mouse onesie. ;)

32. What color shirt are you wearing?
It's red.

33. Summer or winter?
SUMMER! I freaking hate the winter and the cold and I'll be glad when spring/summer come back around.

34. Hugs or kisses?
Tough one.. but I actually think I prefer hugs. Nothing better than a hug from a loved one.

35. Computer or television?
Computer. Without a doubt. I use it for everything, blogging, social media.. plus, I can pretty much get 2 for 1 as you can practically watch all your TV shows online nowadays!

36. What book are you reading right now?
Not actually reading any books right now, which is really bad of me.. and the last book I read was studying for my exam.

37. What’s on your mouse pad?
I don't have a mousepad. I have a laptop and an Ipad, so touchpad or screen. :)

38. What color is your house?
You know what... this one actually stumped me when I thought about it... hah. I couldn't think of what the outside of my house looked like. It's just bricks.. so brick colour ;)

39. What color is your car?
It's a Turquoise Colour

Heeeelloo! to the first of February. I hope that January was good to you and that you achieved good things!

January has gone by so fast! I've not even been that busy but its flown by. The faster it goes by, the faster my surgery comes around and that makes me nervous and excited at the same time.

I'll be doing Vows of the Month each month this year, they'll just be goals that I'll set for the month that will help me achieve my goals for the year.

So, my vows for this month..

*** Practice Yoga Everyday ***
I want to get into Yoga so I can help to achieve my yearly goals of being able to do crows pose, headstands and handstands.

I've been slacking lately on the Yoga front and I only did 2 Yoga workouts for the month of January.

I'm gonna do the Do You Yoga - 30 Day Challenge with Erin Motz. Its 30 days of Yoga in 10-20 minute videos that are sent directly to your inbox each day.

*** Do a Biscuit/Sweet/Cakes Ban ***
Back in October, I did #nochoctober on Instagram with a bunch of other people. It was originally supposed to be just chocolate but I extended it to other sweet treats.

I did pretty well. I didn't last the whole month, but about 25 days out of the month. They say it takes 28 days to make a habit.. there's 28 days in February, PERFECT! :)

My snacking with regards to sweet treats had gotten a little out of hand and I've mentioned this is several posts before. It's time to put a stop to it before it gets any worse.

I'll be banning everything sweet related, with the exception of a dessert on a Saturday as its family night, which I think is an acceptable decision.

I think that the two vows above should be quite a challenge to stick to just on their own but I'm determined to make sure that I do BOTH of them!
